We chose the title "Ellipsis" because we felt that it related to our film plot. An "Ellipsis" usually indicates that something is missing, but it can also show a pause in speech, an unfinished thought or more importantly a trailing of into silence. We felt that this was a reasonable name for our film because it gives them impression that something is missing form the story line and also at the end of the film it trails off into silence when Mary-Alice stops screaming.
The word "Ellipsis" also sounds quite scary and spooky with the emphasis on the letter "S".
